I remember when I first received Christ and was born again into God’s kingdom. I loved God so much, but I had no clue how to follow Him! I had no clue how to pray and I didn’t know the Bible. My prayer literally went like this: “God I’m going to be so good for You today”. Then all day I was the worst ever, yelling at my kids and being angry at my husband! I was wondering what was going on and why I couldn‘t seem to live right! Each day I would declare in prayer on my knees in my room before starting my day that “I” would do better and work hard at being the best mom and wife for God and each day I got worse!!! I was stumped!
Finally out of exhaustion, I changed my prayer. I said, “Lord, it’s so obvious I have no clue how to follow you but I want to, PLEASE squeeze my hand as tight as you can and teach me and show me how”!!!! Just simple child like faith in my Father. To my surprise He came and met with me through a message by Charles Stanley on the radio and spoke right to me! He literally came into my kitchen and used the words from Charles Stanley to reveal Himself to me and tell me exactly what I needed to do, specifically answering my prayer! I was awed!! I had no idea God would really speak to me personally!! Wow, was this amazing! I just wanted to shout out to everyone what had just happened to me!
The Scripture verse God gave me was John 15:5. He told me that He was the Vine (not me) and by abiding and remaining like a branch in Him, He- the Vine would bear much fruit, but apart from Him- the Word, I could do nothing. I totally knew, the “I could do nothing” part! Just through that one little verse He began bearing MUCH fruit in my life! I began clinging to that little verse in the Bible from God through difficult situations, quoting and praying that verse to Him, declaring that He was the Vine of this situation and I was a branch, and He would bear much fruit. I was experiencing God over and over through that verse! What an amazement it was to see Him change me just by simply speaking and praying that tiny little verse!!
This is God’s way to the abundant life, to a fruitful life, to a blessed life, to a free life!! If we will speak His Word and hold onto that Word, instead of holding onto fear, anger, etc. He is faithful and will perform it! (Heb 10:23 Jer 1:12) Our natural man wants to speak out how we feel or what the circumstances look like, but God wants us to speak His Word. The righteous live by faith by speaking His Word, just like Jesus did. As I began asking Him more specific questions concerning my life, to my astonishment He kept right on speaking to me, giving me specific Scripture verses to hold fast to and to quote and pray! As I clung to these tiny verses by speaking and praying them, again He would show Himself to me and do a work through them!! It’s so true, His Word really is living and powerful!!!
One verse WILL literally save our life! Call on the Name of the Lord through quoting and praying His Word and just as His Word promises we get to experience rich blessings and are saved from whatever temptation we are facing!! Learn the way of Jesus through confessing the Word and enjoy His peace, wisdom, love, joy, and much more! That’s what you’ll learn how to do through the Whole Health Club. You too will be surprised at the power of God’s Word when you speak and pray it!
The words I speak are Spirit and life. Where the Spirit of the Lord is there is freedom. (John 6:63, 2 Cor 3:17) The Words we speak are critical to our whole health: body, soul, and spirit. We too can speak the words of Spirit and life and enjoy great freedom from anger, fear, unforgiveness, doubt, depression, etc. Speaking words of faith has transformed me and made me and many others new and they will change you too! (Ps 34)
In Luke 4:1-14 Satan tempts Jesus by questioning who He is and that’s exactly what Satan is doing with us, testing our new identity in Christ. Will we believe who we really are NOW in Christ and speak what God has given us, a “NEW” identity in Christ? Our real identity right now is in Christ. If anyone is in Christ, he is (not going to be) a new creation; old things have (not will) passed away; behold all things have become ( ALL things right now!) new. This is the best news ever! And wait until you find out all that you’ve inherited through Jesus! In Matthew 3:16-17 God the Father just finished telling Jesus He was His beloved Son in whom He was well pleased. Satan said to Jesus, “If you are the Son of God then…..” Jesus said, “I live on every word that comes from the mouth of God.” Jesus speaks only what God the Father tells Him. (John 12:49-50) Only God’s Words direct Jesus’ thoughts, ways, and speech. The devil tries two more times to tempt Jesus by speaking words that will make Him turn away from God’s Word, but both times Jesus uses God’s Word, quoting it out loud, and Jesus was free from all temptation from the devil.
Jesus’ source of life and freedom is through quoting God’s Word and holding fast to His confession of faith. We must also declare, confess, and quote out loud what God says so that we too can live a life of freedom and abundance. Living on every Word from God‘s mouth is fun, easy, and powerful! After Jesus spoke the Word He returned in the power of the Spirit! We will also be in the power of the Holy Spirit as we do likewise, speaking and declaring the Words of God. (Luke 4:14)
Everything in my life has become new and every year as I’ve allowed the Holy Spirit to guide me more wonderful newness of life keeps coming. Jesus has delivered me from condemnation, fear, anger, depression and so much more! Jesus is my life now and always! My prayer for you is that you also will encounter Jesus in all these ways and more through the Whole Health Club and also be made new enjoying whole health body, soul and spirit.
