Thankfulness is my place of protection and healing. Therefore I will be entering His gates with thanksgiving and His courts with praise daily, to come out of darkness and keep me from defiling myself.
I give thanks to Him and bless His name! I will bless the Lord at all times; His praise shall continually be in my mouth. This will make me clean and pure.
A thankful heart is a healthy heart. I will find many things each day for which to express my gratitude, because giving thanks is the cure for defilement.
Oh I give thanks to the Lord, for He is good, for His steadfast love endures forever! I am the redeemed of the Lord and will say so all day long! He has redeemed me from trouble.
God’s way of thankfulness is no little thing, it’s huge! It’s His will for me in Christ Jesus, so I don’t put out the Holy Spirit’s fire and despise prophecy. I am blessed by dwelling in His house, ever singing His praise!
What comes out of my mouth is what defiles me: making me corrupt, dirty, impure, polluted, and unclean. Unthankful words are evil and defile me.
Jesus says that the things that proceed out of my mouth come from my heart, and these defile me. For out of my heart come evil thoughts—murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, and slander. These are what defile me.
Above all else, I must guard my heart, for everything I do flows from it. I will keep my mouth free of perversity and from corrupt talk since defilement comes from my heart. I will keep these far from my lips. Perversity turns me away from what is right, good, or proper, causing me to reject it.
I will rejoice in the Lord always! I will tell myself again and again: Rejoice! I know that the Lord is near me. That’s why I do not need to become anxious about anything, but in every situation, I pray with thanksgiving and the peace of God, which transcends all understanding, guards my heart and my mind in Christ Jesus.
I am protecting my heart and mind from becoming dirty and unclean by simply praying with thanksgiving!
It’s critical that I think on good things to keep myself free from being defiled. I will think on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—I will choose to think on these things!
This keeps me safe and secure from polluting and contaminating my own soul.
I live by the Truth and walk by faith, and this keeps me from suppressing the Truth. Suppressing the Truth takes me down an extremely dark path. I know that to glorify God I must give thanks in everything. This keeps my thinking from becoming futile and my heart from becoming foolish and darkened.
I will not become a fool and exchange the glory of God for anything through ungratefulness. I will not exchange the truth about God for a lie, and worship and serve created things rather than the Creator—who is forever praised!
Only a fool would not acknowledge God and allow themselves to become foolish in their thinking, leading them into doing things that should never be done. Foolish people live to become full of every kind of wickedness and sin: greed, hate, envy, murder, quarreling, deception, malicious behavior, and gossip, to name some examples.
I will sing to the Lord with thanksgiving!
Foolish thinking makes me become proud, heartless, and have no mercy. I will fill my mouth with thanksgiving to the Lord!
I will happily trust in You, Lord, with all my heart and acknowledge You in all my ways! You make my path straight and keep my soul from the wide road of destruction!
So much disgrace and defilement happens to my soul simply from not acknowledging You in all my ways and giving thanks to You, Precious Lord!
Better is one day in Your courts than a thousand elsewhere, my wonderful Jesus! I would rather be a doorkeeper in Your house through thanksgiving than dwell in the tents of the wicked through unthankfulness.
It’s critical I bless You, Lord, at all times to remain free from defiling myself! I will listen diligently to You and eat what is good, delighting myself in rich food as I live on every Word that comes from Your mouth! I will Incline my ear and come to You! I will listen, that my soul may live!
Set a guard, O Lord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips! I desire to love life and see good days by speaking thanksgiving, then I will always be discerning and keep my tongue from evil and my lips from speaking deceitfully.
My heart will be wise, teaching my mouth to speak out thankfulness all day long and letting the peace of Christ rule in my heart; not fear or hurt or any other defilement.
I will let the word of Christ dwell in me richly so that I can teach and admonish others in all wisdom, singing psalms and hymns and spiritual songs with thankfulness in my heart to You, God. This keeps me doing everything, whether in my words or deeds, in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to You, God, at all times.
I will do everything to pay attention to what You say, God, turning my ear to Your Words and not letting them out of my sight, but keeping them within my heart. They are life to me and health to my whole body, bringing me to purity and keeping me from defiling myself.
Therefore, since I’ve received a kingdom that cannot be shaken, I will be thankful and so worship God acceptably with reverence and awe constantly!
I will always avoid godless chatter, because indulging in it makes me become more and more ungodly and impure. I will do the opposite and speak God’s Word, and become more and more godly and pure.
I’m speaking the truth in love, so that I will grow to become in every respect mature in Christ.
His divine power has given me everything I need for life and godliness through His exceedingly great and precious promises, that through these I will be a partaker of the divine nature and escape the corruption that is in the world through lust and evil desires.
I am blessed because I take refuge and trust in the Lord. He rescues me from every kind of defilement. The Lord’s Word heals and delivers me from every kind of destruction.
Jesus, You came to save me, not condemn me. I will not love darkness nor will I be fearful of being exposed. I live by truth and come into light so that darkness may be seen plainly.
Unless the Lord builds my house, I am laboring in vain.
I waited patiently for you, Lord; You inclined to me and heard my cry. You drew me up from the pit of destruction, out of the miry bog, and set my feet upon a rock, making my steps secure. You put a new song in my mouth a song of praise to You, God. I see and fear, and put my trust in You. I am blessed by making You my trust, and not turning to be proud, going astray after a lie.
