“This Book of the Law shall not depart from my mouth, but I shall meditate on it day and night, so that I may be careful to do according to all that is written in it. For then I will make my way prosperous, and then I will have good success.” Josh. 1:8
Meditating is speaking God’s Word (outloud or silently)
Meditating/Speaking God’s Word day and night causes me to be able to do God’s Word! Meditating/Speaking God’s Word day and night makes my ways prosperous and I will have good success.
I AM strong and courageous and do not need to be frightened or dismayed, for the Lord my God is with me wherever I go when I’m speaking His Word (meditating)! The Lord is near me when I call upon Him, when I call upon Him in truth. Josh. 1:9; Ps. 145:18
I call upon the Lord by speaking His Word. He is worthy to be praised with my mouth! This saves me from the enemies of fear, unforgiveness, depression, doubt, anger, pride, jealousy, bondage, and much more! I will lift up the cup of salvation and call on the name of the Lord. He has loosed my bonds. Ps. 18:3; Ps. 145:1-3
I will let the words of my mouth and the meditations of my heart be acceptable in His sight, through speaking His Word. He will be my Rock and my Redeemer. Ps. 19:14
I WILL confess and praise God with my whole heart. I WILL praise His name for His loving kindness and for His truth and faithfulness; for He has exalted above all else His name and His word and He has magnified His word above all His name! I would be a fool not to call on Him through speaking His Word! When I call, He answers me; and He strengthens me with strength in my soul! Ps. 138:1-3
I call to Him and He answers me, and tells me great and hidden things that I have not known. I call upon Him in the day of trouble; He will deliver me, and I shall glorify Him. But to the wicked God says, “What right have you to recite my statutes or take my covenant on your lips?” I will take delight in the Almighty through calling upon Him at all times! Jer. 33:3; Ps. 138:1-3; Job 27:10
Because the righteousness based on faith says, “The word is near you, in your mouth and in your heart” (that is, the word of faith that we proclaim); I am the righteousness of God in Christ and live by faith, therefore I confess God’s Word, declaring all of His promises! They are all Yes and Amen to me in Christ! Rom. 1:17, 10:6-8; 2Cor. 1:20, 5:21
I will offer to the Lord the sacrifice of thanksgivingand call on His name. No matter what my circumstances are I will use my mouth to give Him thanks! I will exalt Him with my mouth, not my troubles and fears! My God the King; every day I will praise you and extol your name forever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; His greatness no one can fathom. Ps. 116:13, 16-17; 1Thess. 5:16-18
I dwell in the secret place of the Most High and abide under the shadow of the Almighty by saying of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.” I declare out loud my trust is in God using His promises, and He protects me from every snare, pestilence, and destruction! PS 91
Because I have made the Lord my dwelling place, through meditating/speaking His Word day and night, no evil shall befall me, nor shall any plague come near my dwelling; for He shall give His angels charge over me, to keep me in all my ways! PS 91
Because I have set my love upon Him, therefore He will deliver me; He will set me on high, because I have known His name. I shall call upon Him, meditating/speaking out His Word, and He will answer me; He will be with me in trouble; He will deliver me and honor me. With long life He will satisfy me, and show me His salvation.” PS 91
I am not going to be deceived! Every good and perfect gift is from above, from His Word. I will receive the implanted Word, which is able to save my soul. I will be a doer of the word by continuing in it daily through meditating/speaking out confessions, not a hearer only, deceiving myself by immediately forgetting the Word.
Meditating on God’s Word is my way of freedom from deception and the way to be blessed in what I do. I must bridle my tongue or I am deceiving my own heart, and making my faith useless. Meditating on the Word keeps me unspotted from the world. Jam. 1:16-17, 21-27
One person immediately forgets the Word and the other continues in the Word, not being a forgetful hearer:
Which one is meditating on the Word? Which one is being deceived? Which one is able to do the Word? Which one’s religion is useless? Which one is blessed in what he does? Which one is able to save his soul? Which one is unspotted from the world?
If I don’t hold onto the Word through meditation and confession, the Word cannot help or bless me. I will speak the Word daily, hearing and accepting it and bearing fruit, thirty, sixty, and even a hundredfold. Mark 4 13-20
Who would choose to be sick?! If I had cancer or some other disease, and I knew where to get the medication to get better, I would do everything possible to get it and take it. The Word of God will make me whole, free, and alive! If I’m sick with doubt there’s a cure!!! Doubt will kill me!!! If I’m sick with fear, unforgiveness, pride, rebellion, perversion, jealousy, lying, etc., these also will kill me!!! God’s Word is the cure to it all!!
Who would choose to be sick?! If I’m sick, God’s Word is the cure to them all!! My tongue is obviously steering my life as God’s Word tells me.
Oh, how God desires me to meditate day and night on His Word so that He can prosper me and give me good success! James 3:1-12
