THANKFUL TRAINING
In every relationship and situation words matter most, since they are steering the health of our hearts, minds, souls, and bodies. I can make things good by simply speaking words of life. I have the power to bring life and freedom where there is death and bondage, peace where there is anxiety, and prosperity where there is poverty. If I’m looking for a way to restore or renew my health or the health of any of my relationships, or just desire to make my life and relationship the best, increasing my expressions of thankfulness will bring about wonderful results.
“Right” speech should not be based on “right”, or good, feelings.
When my speech is right, the desired good feelings will follow.
It’s scientifically proven that my words have direct effect on my emotions. My emotions come from my heart, and in Proverbs 14:30 God says that a heart at peace gives life to the body. Every part of it, every part of me! And God says in Philippians 4:6-7 that anxiety is not my life or way but rather praying with thanksgiving in everything. God wants me to live in His presence, in His peace that surpasses all understanding! Getting my words right, then, is receiving God’s powerful peace and getting my emotions, my heart, and my body right and healthy. My emotions will always change to good when I give thanks to God and rejoice in Him and that will change everything. So if I’m feeling bad, I will rejoice and give thanks to God for all His goodness and mercy.
In James 3, God says that I am able to get my whole body in check by the words I speak, and that my words are what are steering my whole body and my whole life. So, I will speak words of thanksgiving and I will see for myself the wonderful and amazing changes they make. God has given me the way to excellent relationships and health, and even a way of escape from heartache and trauma through using thankful words and praying with thanks.
“The heart of the wise teaches his mouth, and adds learning to his lips.” Prov. 23:16
I will teach my mouth to give thanks in everything!
“A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his mouth.” Pro. 12:14
“For a good tree does not bear bad fruit, nor does a bad tree bear good fruit. For every tree is known by its own fruit. A good man out of the good treasure of his heart brings forth good; and an evil man out of the evil treasure of his heart brings forth evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks.” Luke 6:43-45
I am the righteousness of God in Christ therefore I will intentionally speak of all the goodness of Christ in me. I am a new creation in Christ and all things are new. The old me is gone and now I live on the word of God and give thanks in everything storing up His goodness in my heart. I am a good tree and bear good fruit in Christ. 2Cor. 5:17, 21
“From the fruit of their mouth a person’s stomach is filled; with the harvest of their lips they are satisfied. The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.” Prov. 18:20-21
I will fill up my mouth with God’s word and with thanksgiving and have a cup running over of good flowing out of my mouth. I will speak life, truth, and faith, and prosper in all things and in health. 3John 1:2-4
I will be wise and have a wise heart and teach myself to use words of thanks, to release the power of life and bring amazingly good things to me and others.
I will bless, give thanks in everything, and not curse, complain or argue about anything, and go from glory to glory.
It’s my mouth that satisfies me with good things and restores my health and my relationships.
I will do God’s will and rejoice always in His great salvation, pray continually, and give thanks in all my circumstances! Words, being seeds, grow into something and produce much fruit. God’s way of rejoicing, praying, and thanksgiving blesses me with abundant life, freedom, and health. I love speaking thankful words! They bless me with a good perspective and mindset and give me good health, happiness, and peace. The more I speak thankful words, the more they grow and prosper my relationships and my health. Even when I fall and fail, as I am growing and learning, I just receive God’s mercy and grace and get right back on track. I’m learning by teaching myself to speak thanks and as time goes on, I will progressively become more thankful when I speak.
I will constantly practice speaking with thanks, look for opportunities to give people thanks for specific things, and always give God thanks in everything. Thanksgiving is not a little thing, it’s a powerful thing that radically changes everything! It will bring huge blessings to my relationships, health, and every area of my life!

“For physical training is of some value, but godliness “thanksgiving” has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come. This is a trustworthy saying that deserves full acceptance.” 1 Tim. 4:8-9
Pray this every day, “Thank You, God, for filling my heart with gratitude and love for You and others and making me into your image. Thank You for helping me to express words of thankfulness in every situation!”
Say to yourself everyday, “As Jesus is, full of thanksgiving, so am I in this world. I am a thankful person. I give thanks in everything. I’m taking the way of life and peace. Life and peace make me healthy; physically, spiritually, mentally, emotionally, and relationally.”
I have the way of escape in every trying situation. I say, “Thank You, Lord, for using all this mess for so much good in my life. Use it all, God.” Rom.8:28; 1 John 4:17
Pray: pray with thanksgiving for the solution. Ex: Thank You, God, for caring for me in every way! I cast all these cares of ________ to You to care for them. Thank You for caring for them all so perfectly. I know the devil wants me to be anxious to devour me. I refuse to worry or let my heart be troubled or afraid. I know that You love me God and I trust in You.
I will live by faith in Your love and enjoy Your peace.
Humble yourselves, therefore, under God’s mighty hand, that he may lift you up in due time. Cast all your anxiety on him because he cares for you. Be alert and of sober mind. Your enemy the devil prowls around like a roaring lion looking for someone to devour. Resist him, standing firm in the faith. 1 Pet. 5:6-9
Peace I leave with you; my peace I give you. I do not give to you as the world gives. Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid. John 14:27
